The business case for managing and reducing your business, project or products’ carbon footprint is often compelling as it can reduce costs and increase revenue. The business case does however require careful development as there are some unique factors to consider such as the cost of carbon, the risks of implementing new technology, the price of oil and, the effort required to realise organisational change. Developing a five year plan should also include a sensitivity analysis to increases in the cost of oil and carbon.
